London Guide - The Royal National Hotel - The U.K's Largest Hotel.

The Royal National Hotel London, londons largest hotel, the UKs largest hotel, Bloomsbury hotels, Russel Square hotels, london 3 star hotel, Contiki Travel London hotel, suitable London youth hotel, hotel with bowling alley,

The three star, 1,630 roomed Royal National Hotel in London's Bloomsbury is classified as the United Kingdom's largest hotel offering accommodation for up to three thousand people.

Purpose built over seven floors and completed in 1974, this massive central London hotel is owned and run by the Imperial Hotel Group and is situated on Bedford Way just off Russel Square, London's largest residential, garden square, on what used to be the former Duke of Bedford's royal, London Estate, built in 1801.

The local area is surrounded by fine Georgian and Victorian town houses and large Art Deco period hotels, located just a few minutes walk from London's West End, the Tottenham Court Road and the British Museum.

The hotel comprises of basic, budget accommodation which contains single, double, twin, triple and quad, en - suite bedrooms, all providing fridge, tea / coffee making facilities, telephone and cable T.V .

The hotel facilities include onsite Chinese, Indian and pizza restaurants as well as a large cocktail bar, traditional English pub and the Pavillion Bar, a unique glass, conservatory style, beer garden.

Continental or full English breakfasts are served, buffet style, in the hotel's large, art deco style dining room.

It's spacious foyer complete with 24 hour reception houses several shops, a hairstylist, a bureau de change, ATM services and a departure lounge, complete with refreshment facilities of a self service restaurant, for the use of departing tour groups and / or guests.

The hotel's neighbouring Living Well Health Club - situated next door -  which boasts a swimming pool, three gyms, steam rooms, a jacuzzi spa, a hot tub, sunbeds, aerobic studio and beauty / therapy rooms, are all offered at discounted rates to hotel guests.

Other hotel amenities include full wheel chair access, baby sitting , laundry / dry cleaning, photocopier, concierge, car rental and daily maid services and an inhouse bowling alley.

The hotel is the London headquarters of the reknowned tour group Contiki Travel, the world's largest, budget, youth touring company.

This, along with the hotel's very reasonable room rates, has culminated in the hotel being a magnet for the 18 - 35 year old age group, resulting in the hotel being a somewhat busy and noisy establishment, particularly around it's main foyer and other public areas.

Unfortunately this has led to some quite damning online reviews from former disgruntled customers of other age groups, particularly the over forties and people with young children.

The hotel provides both street car parking and an underground car park, run by National Car Parks, all payable locally.

Don't forget that visitors driving to London need to be aware of the city's Congestion Charge and high car parking rates.

The hotel is built around a central, outside courtyard which provides guests with a safe and secure area for boarding and disembarking visiting coaches or taxis.

The hotel's courtyard is served by the Airbus A2 coach service from Heathrow Airport's Terminal Three (T3).

Wow! HUGE place!

Oh it's small fry compared to some of the ones in your home land, Las Vegas is the home of massive hotels.

Funny, but I barely think of those as "real" buildings. Probably part of the fantasy.

I have an elderly friend who has stayed there and was satisfied with the functional amenities and location, so I think if you are on a budget it's a good choice even if you are not young.

Absolutely Petal the room rates are amazing for a central London hotel.
