New Product Review: Domino's Parmesan Bread Bites

Review with comparison pictures of Domino's new Parmesan Bread Bites appetizer. Are they as good as they look? Find out price, appearance and texture, and, most importantly, flavor of this new product. According to the Domino's website, they are "Oven baked, bite-size breadsticks lightly sprinkled with Parmesan - Asiago cheese & seasoned with garlic and more Parmesan. Perfectly delicious for sharing! Available in 16-piece or 32-piece orders."

There is a new product from Domino's Pizza: Parmesan Bread Bites. According to the Domino's website, they are "Oven baked, bite-size breadsticks lightly sprinkled with Parmesan - Asiago cheese & seasoned with garlic and more Parmesan. Perfectly delicious for sharing! Available in 16-piece or 32-piece orders." All the many commercials I see on television advertising this new product imply everyone loves them and they've gotten rave reviews. I decided to buy a small order for lunch last week and formed my own opinion regarding this new product.

Price, Packaging, and Appearance

I placed an order for carryout and the food was ready right when I arrived. It was $2.99 plus tax in my area for a small order (16 bread bites). The bread bites were hot and fresh and packaged in a white paper bag with a red design and red writing. My order was placed at the Ranson, West Virginia location of Domino's on N. Mildred Street.

The bread bites looked a bit greasy and only slightly cheesy, but, despite that, they still looked appetizing enough and I was anxious to taste them.

Some bites were the size of a large marble while others were three or four times that large, so there wasn't much consistency with the size. That was not an important factor to me, although something of which I did take note. This product is supposedly good for sharing, but a small order isn't substantial enough to share with more than one other person (if eating other foods as well). Note: this product is an appetizer and not a main dish. I do not think it is difficult to share the normal breadsticks, so I am not sure if they are just using the "easy to share" as a gimmick to introduce this new product or if people think their normal breadsticks are not easy to share for some reason?

There is currently a special where you can buy 2 medium 2-topping pizzas for $5.99 each and get a small order of Parmesan Bread Bites for $1.00, plus tax, of course. The large order of Parmesan Bread Bites are priced in my area at $5.00.

I have provided a picture of the bread bites I ordered as well as a screenshot from the Domino's website for comparison.

The bread has a good, fresh flavor, but there is not as much Parmesan or garlic flavor as I was hoping. The bread bites are a bit bland, in my opinion. I could barely taste any garlic or Parmesan. No sauce comes with the bread bites (you have to buy dipping sauce separately). Sauce might have made the bread bites much more tasty. Many people who provided reviews at seem to agree with this as well, regardless of whether they gave a good review or a bad one.

I must say the product was hot and cooked just right, a bit chewy with a slight crunch from baking, but a bit too heavy on the grease and not as flavorful as I would have liked. Some of the bites stuck together and some of the cheese rubbed off onto the bag. Perhaps some garlic and Parmesan should be added into the dough before it's cooked, which might help make this product retain more flavor.

I have viewed many comments that others have submitted from the Domino's website and see many mixed reviews. The average rating on their website is 4.3 stars out of 5. Some people love the product while others, like myself, feel the product is okay, but nothing special and likely will not be ordering Parmesan Bread Bites again. If I had to rate this new product I would only give 2 - 3 stars out of 5. It is satisfactory, but nothing amazing. It's not flavorful enough and it could come with a small dipping sauce instead of requiring customers to pay an extra amount for a small cup of sauce.

Nice review. We don't have this chain around here.

I am surprised there wasn't any sauce included! I liked your personal review and the photos you took to illustrate your points. Well done Bethany.

Excellent review.

I think the nearest Dominos is about an hour away from us. I gather they have improved since I last had their pizza, I do love bread products though...

Love them, great and tasty review..voted
